For all of our new American Girl® Doll owners...Here are a few tips that will keep your doll looking brand new:

Rosie in her Embroidered Bow Dress

Wash your hands before playing with your new doll.
If you doll's face gets dirty, try using a damp Magic Eraser and gently rub any scuff marks from her face.
Brush your doll's hair daily with a wire doll brush to keep it shiny & neat.
Don't curl or blow-dry your doll's hair.
Protect your doll from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
Hand wash their clothes with mild soapy water & air dry.

Now that we're half way through summer break, I've been hearing a lot of "Mom... I'm so bored and there's nothing to do!"

Well, a couple of weeks ago I found a great resource for local, family friendly events called Macaroni Kid Camarillo. This is a great e-newsletter that is chock full of fun things that the whole family can do together.

Sharon Rosenthal publishes this free newsletter every week and organizes each event by date. She even tells you the best age groups for the event, the time, and the costs. Many of the events that are posted are free, which makes it really easy to load up the kids and go!

You know, each time we attend a festival we are so amazed by how many American Girl®, Madame Alexander®, and Our Generation® Doll lovers there are. Here is a quick example of the variety of people we met last weekend:

A very sweet girl named Oliva stopped by and she actually has 24 American Girl Dolls! Wow!
A cute 2 year old brother and sister visited us and each has their own twin "Bitty Baby" already !
A very nice 76 year old grandmother browsed our booth looking for new outfits for her very own collection of 18"dolls!
Even a grandpa wanted to get a bathing suit for his granddaughter's doll, so that she could sit out by the pool with her!

Fun Day Trip for Moms & Daughters

Last weekend Jenny Rose and I enjoyed our first trip to the American Girl Place, located at The Grove, in Los Angeles!

This is a great place to spend the afternoon with your special girl. While you are there she can choose her first American Girl Doll or even add another to her collection. In addition to their dolls, this store has a doll hair salon, ear piercing area, photo studio, doll hospital, and a bookstore! There is even a cafe in the store, so the next time we go we plan to enjoy a lovely afternoon tea.

We dressed Jenny Rose's American Girl Doll "Rosie" in her beautiful Pink Embroidered Bow Dress and while we were there she had her hair done and ears pierced!

Our exciting new triple bunk beds have arrived! The beds come apart and can be set side by side as 3 separate beds. They are made from wood and are painted a pale pink color. The beds come with a huge storage drawer that fits under the bottom bunk. They include a pillow, blanket and end storage pocket for each bed in coordinating polka dot fabric. Great value!
